Seaside

The official end of the Lewis and Clark trail, Seaside boasts family fun with Pacific Ocean beaches and Tillamook Head. If you want to shop or swim, dine out or camp out, you’ll find plenty to do during a visit to Seaside.

Carousel Mall in Seaside

Whether it’s the numerous outlet malls, or visiting historic downtowns, there are many shopping opportunities scattered about the coast, from North to South.

But few shopping malls have the attraction of the Seaside Carousel Mall – a full-sized indoor working carousel. On the Oregon Coast, being indoors means you can enjoy a ride on a horse, sea horse or any number of other animals depicted on the spinning wonder.

Tillamook Head

"I behold the grandest and most pleasing prospect which my eyes ever surveyed."

- Capt. William Clark

About the Hike: The farthest point reached by the Lewis and Clark expedition was not at the mouth of the Columbia River, but rather 20 miles south at Tillamook Head, where they went hiking in search of whale blubber.
